My practice encompasses all aspects of employment law, including wrongful discharge, discrimination and harassment litigation in both state and federal courts, wage and hour claim defense, representation of employers in hearings before administrative agencies, management training, and counseling employers on issues relating to employment agreements, commission plans, hiring, firings and other personnel matters. I am also a frequent speaker on employment law topics. Compliance with California’s labor laws is no easy task, especially for smaller employers.  Unfortunately, I don’t meet many of my clients until they are already facing some sort of claim from a disgruntled employee or former employee.  I view my role as twofold: (1) work with my clients to obtain an efficient and amicable resolution to the pending claim; and (2) educate and guide them so that they are in compliance with the many regulations and obligations facing California employers.  I am not looking for repeat litigation clients.  I would much rather resolve a dispute for a client and make sure they don’t find themselves in that type of situation again.

The first question I ask any client facing a complaint from an employee or former employee is, “how do you want to resolve this matter?”  Some clients simply want the matter to go away, while others want to fight spurious claims.  My goal is always to educate my clients, guide them through the process of dealing with their employee issues, and steer them towards the most efficient resolution to the situation at hand.

I provide my clients with the peace of mind to know that their employment law issues will be resolved in a cost-effective and expedient manner, and that they can focus their attention on providing their clients with the best service or products possible.

I thoroughly enjoy the variety of industries my clients represent.  California’s labor laws apply to all employers, big and small, including service industries, manufacturing, non-profits, entertainment, etc.  My favorite part of specializing in employment law are the people I get to meet and the types of business I am introduced to.
